Here, students will learn from outstanding faculty, participate in workshops with internationally renowned artists and designers, get hands-on experience through internships and community projects, contribute to galleries and create their own art in the school's exceptional studio spaces. These are just a few of the experiences that will position graduates for success in the art world.

For those students who are passionate about ceramics, painting, printmaking, graphic design/multimedia, photography or sculpture, a degree from University of South Dakota will provide them with the training, facilities and opportunities they need to launch their career.

With a specialization in Sculpture, students will explore cast metals, metal fabrication, woodworking, mixed media, carving, mold-making and installation projects with traditional and contemporary materials and processes. Students will have the opportunity for growth and development of individual aesthetics, concepts, technical abilities and a critical understanding of the discipline of sculpture as applied to the production of contemporary art.
