专业介绍

The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education is a four-year program that prepares students for certification to teach K-12 visual arts or pursue another professional career. This program is offered in conjunction with the School of Education to ensure that students are equally and comprehensively exposed to the academic and artistic components of the degree. Students will also choose one of six specializations: ceramics, painting, printmaking, graphic design/multimedia, photography or sculpture.

In Painting specialization Students will gain the knowledge and tools that they need to become an informed, competent and creative artist by becoming a painting student at University of South Dakota. Bridging both the technical and conceptual approaches to painting, the program offers them a rigorous and supportive environment that encourages creative thought and personal growth through research, experimentation and critical discussion. They will learn to develop a thoughtfully executed and skilled body of paintings and to contextualize their work through readings, field trips and research.
