理学学士 (BSN) - 护理学

专业介绍

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree program is designed to provide students with a strong educational foundation that prepares them to pursue entry into the nursing profession. Graduates of the BSN program are expected to incorporate the concepts of caring, communication, critical thinking, professionalism, and holism in providing care to individuals, families, and communities. The program’s comprehensive theoretical and clinical practice components are intended to help South University BSN graduates transition smoothly into professional nursing practice. In addition, graduates of the South University Bachelor of Science in Nursing program are encouraged to continue their education.

The BSN degree program is intended for students who are not already registered nurses. Participants may complete prerequisite courses in as few as six quarters before applying for admission to the nursing program, which is delivered over seven quarters. Upon successful completion of the nursing program, graduates must pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) to obtain licensure and begin practice as registered nurses.

Note the following:

• For licensure "Graduates are required to pass the national certification exam and obtain a state license in order to work in the field. (Exam names vary by program.) Please refer to the State Professional Licensure Determination and National Certification/Licensure section of the University catalog for additional information. South University cannot guarantee each graduate will pass the required licensure examinations. South University does not promise or guarantee licensure, employment, or salary amounts."
• For clinical "Programs, including all Clinical/Medical programs have a required ground clinical, practicum, or externship. We cannot guarantee flexibility in these components of the program."
